Insight Punts Prius for UK Enviro Award

The new Honda Insight narrowly beat the Toyota Prius to be crowned the most eco-friendly car on UK roads by the Environmental Transport Association. 1300 models were assessed in deciding the competition.

Honda plans to sell 7000 Insights in the UK and 200,000 globally. The Insight emits just over 100 grams of CO2 per kilometre, but we won't get it in Australia until late in 2010.

At the other end of the green spectrum in the UK is the Dodge SRT-10, which emits 488 grams of CO2 per kilometre and requires an acre of mature oak trees to absorb the emissions. On the plus side, it's probably more fun to drive.
